  • "Ryan is the prefect combination of experienced trainer and motivator. I lead a very busy life with work and family. Ryan tailored my program not only for what my body could handle but for fitting workouts in at times that best fit my schedule. Ryan was always responsive to questions that I had (and as a "newbie", I had a lot). Ryan was in constant communication to me to make assess how I was performing and how to tweak my workouts throughout my program to ensure that I was as prepared as I could be. When I was a 320 pound, old offensive lineman, I never thought I could complete a half-ironman. In retrospect, I could not have without Ryan's expertise, guidance, and support. I could not recommend anyone more strongly than Ryan."

  • "I started training with Ryan in 2007. At that time, I had done two races and was registered for Ironman USA in Lake Placid in 2008. Ryan was always quick to talk me out of spending money on goods and services I was not ready for. He took my feedback seriously, and tailored workouts specifically to me, taking into consideration, fitness, work schedule, other hobbies, travel, illness, etc. He was always available by email to answer my many questions. He encouraged me when I needed a boost, he reigned me in when I was over zealous. Ryan was everything I could have asked for in a coach for a lot less money than many impersonal internet programs. We were rewarded for all of our work in July, when I became an Ironman on July 20, 2008!"

  • "A good triathlon coach requires many different traits to succeed, sports knowledge, nutrition knowledge, people skills, and good communication skills to name a few. Ryan has all of these skills and more. Ryan has outstanding technical knowledge but excels in personal and organizational skills; this is what separates him from other coaches. Ryan takes personal pride in his athletes and cares about their performance. More importantly though, he cares about them as person. Ryan will go above and beyond to make sure his athletes are getting what they need and will work around his athlete’s lives and schedules in order to make the best possible program to achieve your goals."

  • "As a friend of and athlete coached by Ryan Vingris, I can strongly attest to his coaching abilities, which are both amiable and professional. In fall 2007, Ryan took on the challenging task of coaching Miami University’s Triathlon Team. Because our team is made up of athletes training for races ranging from their first sprint triathlon to an Ironman, Ryan was uniquely challenged with creating workouts that would benefit a variety of athletes. Undoubtedly, Ryan proved to be up to the challenge. He was willing to travel up to an hour on weekday nights to speak to a classroom of athletes and share his extensive triathlon knowledge. Ryan prepared specific lessons ranging from bike mechanics to nutrition, and these lessons were incredibly valuable to our team. Ryan provided our team with workouts that were flexible to a college student’s complex schedule, and was always available to provide unique advice at a personal level. He also committed himself to attending team practices whenever possible, even though he lived an hour away. In April, Ryan traveled with the team to Collegiate Nationals in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and provided our team with the motivation and wisdom to perform the best in our team’s history. The growth and success that Miami University’s Triathlon Team has experienced in the past year is undoubtedly due in part to Ryan’s coaching and commitment to our team. Our team is in debt to him for his dedication and invaluable knowledge of the triathlon community and training."
